Bill Verplank

Tuesday, October 23, 5:00 — 1404 Siebel Center

Bill Verplank has a long and distinguished career in interaction design, including time at Xerox developing the Xerox Star graphical user interface (GUI), work on GUIs with IDEO and helping to establish the Interaction Design Institute in Ivrea, Italy.

Verplank possesses the unique ability to diagram as he talks to illustrate his deep understanding of interaction design and to reinforce his points. This process transforms his lectures into a fascinating interaction between words, thoughts, and images. Participating in a Verplank performance, watching him walk the line, is a rare experience, not one to be missed.
