Monday, October 8, 5:30 — 62 Krannert Art Museum

Creator of the wildly successful Motorola RAZR V3 and, most recently, the MOTORAZR2, Wicks' talk will focus on how to bring business-driven design strategies into the center of a corporation's activities, and marry design with engineering, technology, and business to maximize success. Wicks' focus on user-centered design practices has led his global team at Motorola to deliver a series of cutting-edge, iconic mobile products.

As Motorola's Corporate VP and Director of Consumer Experience Design, Wicks has used strategic design to sharpen Motorola's competitive edge in the marketplace. The RAZR has sold more than 24 million units worldwide. His team adheres to the core principles of surprise, honesty, richness and simplicity to innovate distinctive, eye-catching new designs.

An alumnus of the University of Illinois Industrial Design program, Wicks will share his journey from campus to the corporate world. His talk will offer insights into the product development process at Motorola and how they put the mojo into Moto.
